Deerhurst
Clothes designer Richy Baldwin is a fan of American garage culture, and he brought elements of that to bear when asking us to create him a bespoke new home.
His dated, dormer cottage was ripe for a revamp, so we kicked around ideas and approached Glazzard Architects to join in the process.
By using industrial materials Richy created a family home with a raw look. You might expect to find a steel staircase and polished concrete floor in a factory – or a garage workshop come to that – yet the reasons they work well in such an environment makes them a natural fit in some homes, too.
After a complete overhaul it is now a contemporary house.
